- Traditional Crafts: Toyooka Wickerwork
- Toyooka wickerwork, which has a history of 2000 years, became known as "the willow wicker trunk of Toyooka" during the Edo period, when the feudal domain protected and promoted the craft and established a wickerwork monopoly. In the Meiji period, wicker bags were invented, and in the Taisho period, the modern "Taisho basket" became all the rage. After the war, shopping baskets and shoulder bags were also made in this style. In 1992, wickerwork was designated a national traditional craft, and in 2007, it was registered as a regional collective trademark.
