Izushiyaki Porcelain

Izushiyaki Porcelain
- Traditional craft Izushiyaki Porcelain
- Izushiyaki porcelain began full-scale production in the late Edo period after porcelain stone suitable for ceramics was discovered in local mountains. In the Meiji era, craftsmen were invited to the region, and techniques were improved. Winning the gold medal at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair was a significant milestone that elevated the reputation of izushiyaki. In 1980, it was certified as a traditional craft, and its history and skills are being preserved. The snow-like white hue, a signature feature of izushiyaki, continues to be cherished by enthusiasts.
