Cutleries (Miki)

Cutleries (Miki)
- Japan's oldest blacksmith town: Miki
- In 1580, the town of Miki was burned down in a battle between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the lord of Miki Castle, Bessho Nagaharu. Carpenters from all over the country gathered in the town to rebuild it, and many blacksmiths came to make the tools they needed. This meant that the town developed as a metalwork town. "Banshu Miki Uchihamono" (forged blades) boasts a sharp cutting edge, achieved by forging traditional Japanese iron and steel.
