Yarn-dyed cotton fabrics boasting a high share of domestic production: Kita-Harima region
In 1792, when Hida Yasubei, a shrine carpenter from what is now Nishiwaki City's Hie-cho, introduced textile manufacturing techniques from Nishijin, Kyoto. The fabric is characterized by its "yarn-dyed" technique, in which the threads are first dyed and then woven into a pattern, and its natural texture and rich colours make it suitable for use in a variety of products, including shirts, blouses, and stoles. Thanks to its excellent quality, it is also used as fabric material for both domestic and international brands.
